Ingredients:
- 1 cup grits
- 4 cups water
- Salt
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Hot sauce (optional)
Instructions:
- In a pot, bring water and salt to a boil. Slowly add grits, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes until thickened. Stir in butter and cheese.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and green onions, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
- Serve shrimp over the creamy grits, drizzling with hot sauce if desired.
